Lavender Lanna Hotel is a gay-owned and gay-operated hotel that took over the historic Sri Tokoyo Hotel in July of 2009. Our mission is to provide value combined with great service in all of our hospitality and entertainment venues. We work hard to be very responsive to our guest's needs and always welcome feedback, and we welcome friends from all walks of life.
The Lavender Lanna Hotel and our outlets employ over 200 staff. We offer competitive wages to our staff and provide them with a great working environment that includes free meals, discounted housing, free English classes, free life insurance, free checking accounts, free medical checkups and health classes, and more. Some of our staff have worked at the hotel for over 30 years, and almost all of our staff are long-time residents of Chiang Mai and Northern Thailand.
We also work hard to be good community members and world citizens. Our hotel uses products and goods produced in Northern Thailand as much as possible including goods produced from local Hill Tribe communities. We offer our guests the chance to recycle their towels and linens, and we recycle all of our plastic, paper, and glass items. We also work to reduce our carbon footprint by sponsoring tree plantings every Spring. We are also involved in local charitable causes including support of the arts, the local HIV prevention agency, and programs for local children in need.
At the Lavender Lanna Hotel, we are also committed to Chiang Mai and the growing gay community in our beautiful city. We sponsor a free gay guide to Chiang Mai, offer free shuttle rides every day from our hotel to other local gay businesses, and support worthwhile gay events and charitable causes all over Thailand .
